Tasmanian visitor survey, 1978

The primary objective of the study was to estimate the volume of visitor travel to Tasmania and to obtain information on certain aspects of tourist travel. Topics covered include: main purpose for travel; factor which prompted visitor to choose Tasmania; length of stay; nights spent in accommodation; main form of transport within the State; expenditure in Tasmania; number of previous visits; and, participation in selected activities. Background variables include age, sex, employment, income, postcode (Australian visitors) or country (overseas visitors) of home address, purpose of travel, date, and, mode and point of departure.
