The thickness of the Oligocene in the duck beak

The maximum thickness between the base of the Oligocene and the base of the Burdigalium (near the base of the Lower Miocene) is approximately 700 m and is reached in a basin structure at the border with the Danish sector. In contrast to the width distribution of the layer pack of the lower Miocene, a shift of the depocenter to the central area of the duck beak can be seen. There is also an almost opposite sedimentation trend. The diapires in the area of the central trench appear clearly in the width distribution of this horizon.
