Thaumetopoea pityocampa : Raw sequence reads used to study virus presence

This project gathers RNA reads used in a viral transcriptome study.To study viruses present in pine processionary moth (Thaumetopoea pityocampa) populations we took advantage of available transcriptomic data from diverse developmental stages (eggs, larvae, pupae and adults) from Portugal and Italy.We assembled a comprehensive transcriptome from which we searched viral sequences.We could identify eight virus families infecting various stages of the host, while five others probably correspond to endogenized viral elements.
