Microbiome and resistome analysis of agricultural cropping system soils

This study investigated the microbiome and resistome in soils from the Wisconsin Integrated Cropping Systems Trial, including samples from continuous corn, organic grain, conventional forage, organic forage, and rotational grazing plots. Soil management strategies (ie. tillage, herbicide use, and crop-rotations) and fertilizer inputs (ie. composted poultry manure, dairy manure, green manure, and synthetic) were considered as drivers for potential changes in the microbiome and resistome in these soils.
