The Coartem Formative Research was designed to better understand malaria treatment behaviors and choices among adults and caregivers of children under the age of five to obtain evidence to inform a campaign promoting Coartem through the private sector. The study followed a qualitative approach where focus group discussions were used to get information from respondents. Data was obtained in both rural and urban areas of Lilongwe and Blantyre.
