Glucocorticoid Regulation of Primary Cilia Structure and Formation in the Kidney

This thesis explores how glucocorticoids, a class of steroid hormones commonly used to treat inflammation, influence the tiny hair like structures on kidney cells called primary cilia. These cilia help cells sense their environment and maintain healthy kidney function. My research shows that glucocorticoids can change how cilia form, grow and signal, revealing new ways these hormones may affect kidney health and disease.
