Payment for ecosystem services provided by mussels, oysters and seaweed: Dataset on exploring mechanisms to pay for ecosystem services provided by mussels, oysters and seaweed

This study aims to identify and evaluate mechanisms for realize payment for ecosystem services provided by mussels, oyster and seaweed. The economic feasibility of farming of these marine lower trophic species is often a critical issue. In addition to efforts made to innovate and reduce costs of production, it is argued that valuing the ecosystem services provided by the production of these lower trophic species can benefit the business case. The Delphi method was applied to identify and evaluate mechanisms for payment for ecosystem services with experts across the world in various sectors, including industry, NGO, science and government. Three rounds of consultation were organized in the period June-September 2020. The Delphi method was applied remotely; all participants received the questionnaires and submitted the response per e-mail, and the study team merged all replies, to be shared in subsequent rounds.本研究旨在识别并评估贻贝、牡蛎与海藻所提供的生态系统服务（ecosystem services）付费机制。此类海洋低营养级物种（lower trophic species）的养殖经济可行性，往往是一项核心议题。除了推进生产创新、压降生产成本之外，有观点认为，对该类物种养殖所提供的生态系统服务进行价值评估，可优化其商业可行性。本研究采用德尔菲法（Delphi method），联合全球多领域专家——涵盖工业界、非政府组织（NGO）、科研领域与政府部门——识别并评估生态系统服务付费相关机制。本次调研周期为2020年6月至9月，共开展三轮专家咨询。本次德尔菲法调研采用远程模式：所有参与者通过电子邮件接收问卷并提交反馈，研究团队汇总所有回复后，将其分发至后续轮次的调研中供专家参考。
