Active Layer NIMS grid Atqasuk, Alaska 2012

Active Layer measurements were taken at each Networked Info-mechanical Systems (NIMS) grid plot in Atqasuk, Alaska throughout the 2012 summer field season. University of Texas El Paso System Ecology Laboratory (SEL) Circumpolar Active Layer Monitoring (CALM) depth probe was used to take measurements. Depth was measured on the probe as the distance from frozen active layer to the top surface of the vegetation. If water was present then it was measured to the top of the biomass.2012年夏季野外考察期间，研究人员在阿拉斯加州阿特夸斯克（Atqasuk）的每一处网络化信息机械系统（Networked Info-mechanical Systems, NIMS）网格样地内开展了活动层（Active Layer）测量工作。本次测量使用德克萨斯大学埃尔帕索分校系统生态实验室（System Ecology Laboratory, SEL）的环北极活动层监测（Circumpolar Active Layer Monitoring, CALM）深度探针。该探针的测量深度定义为冻结活动层至植被表层的垂直距离；若样地存在积水，则测量至生物量表层。
