Beyond Career Advancement: Women's Career Trajectories and Perceptions of Success in Software Engineering

This supplementary package provides materials supporting a qualitative study investigating women's experiences, professional trajectories, challenges, and perceptions of career success in Software Engineering. The package contains three complementary research artifacts: 1. Interview Guide (Interview Guide.pdf) The semi-structured interview protocol used for data collection, covering participants' backgrounds, professional experiences, career progression, challenges, support mechanisms, and perceptions of career success. 2. Coding Scheme (Coding Scheme.xlsx) The spreadsheet used to organize and analyze the qualitative interview data. It includes six worksheets: Data Coding: Initial coding of participants' interview responses. Career Perception: Analysis of participants' perceptions of their professional trajectories and career progression. Coding Units: Organization of the coding units extracted from the interviews. Codebook: Documentation of the codes and categories used in the analysis. Case Analysis: Individual summary of participants' professional experiences and trajectories. Macrocategory Cross-Case Matrix: Cross-case comparison of macrocategories highlighting convergences, divergences, and recurring patterns across participants. 3. Literature Review Update Process (Literature Review Update Process.png) A visual representation of the literature review process and its subsequent update, documenting the methodological stages and the number of studies identified and included at each stage. Together, these artifacts provide methodological transparency and support the understanding of the data collection, coding, and analytical procedures employed in the study.
