Microbiome of dual (Acipenser sp. and Oncorhynchus mykiss) broodstock holding RAS system. pond metagenome

In a current BioProject, we report results of the 16S rRNA metabarcoding study of the microbial biodiversity at the freshwater recalculation aquaculture facility (RAS) facility. The RAS studied in current project is used used for co-culturing of sturgeon (Acipenser sp.) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) broodstocks. The facility is belonging to AQUATERRA ecological society, Romania and is equipped with aquaponics section as well as gravity aeration tower.The farm is supplied with untreated water from a mountain creek. The DNA was extracted from water and sediment samples collected at the farm water inlet, fish basin, inlet of aquaponics section, outlet of the aeration tower. We have also sampled farm effluents which are returned back into the creek.The data is generated by Alexander K. Bekkelund in frames of ABAWARE project. The project is funded via EU ERA-NET Cofund WaterWorks2015 program.
