High pressure high temperature behavior of FeOOH along normal mantle and slabs geotherms

The goal of this proposal is to systematically study high pressure high temperature behavior of FeOOH along normal mantle and slabs geotherms by means of single crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) and Synchrotron Mössbauer Spectroscopy (SMS). This study will have implications for modelling oxygen and water deep cycles, interpretation of seismic tomography data, and understanding of crystal chemistry of Fe-O-H system.
