资源简介:
An open-source wave buoy named OpenMetBuoy (OMB) was deployed with a SOFAR Spotter in the Laptev Sea open water during the 2021 NABOS cruise in September 2021 to a) validate the OMB sensor and b) measure waves in the MIZ. The open water OMB was named Zeni-v2021 and the Spotter was SPOT-1386. The co-located measurements lasted for approximately 10 days. The variance density of the OMB in the open water agreed with that of the Spotter buoy and provided validation data for the OMB method paper. The co-located buoys drifted near the ice edge, which provide a suitable wave dataset to investigate the wave-ice model performance in thin-thickness ice field.
Another OMB, named WaveIce-OMB, was also deployed at an ice camp in the central Arctic Ocean. This experiment aimed to test the OMB deployment in dense ice cover. Both OMBs survived for over 2 months.
The OMB details are provided in Rabault et al. 2022 method paper (https://doi.org/10.3390/geosciences12030110).
