Crohn's disease-associated Escherichia coli LF82 in the Gut Damage of Germ-free Honeybees

We used germ-free bees orally infected with E. Coli LF82 to detect the bacteria colonization, and observe the changes in intestinal structure, permeability, and genes at the transcriptome level. We focused on the possible mechanism of E. Coli LF82 damage to the host gut and the feasibility of germ-free honeybees as a model organism for bacteria-host interaction.
