Assessment of Myocardial Infarction risk via molecular Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of activated platelets in mice.

Research shows activation and accumulation of platelets in the heart after myocardial infarction (MI). This is associated with more severe myocardial inflammation and complications. We aim to establish Magnetic Resonance (MR)-based molecular imaging targeting activated platelets in the mouse model of MI and develop it as a tool for clinical detection and monitoring of high risk patients.
