In this study, Apis cerana cerana bee bread samples were collected from hives at three elevation gradients (500 m, 700 m, and 900 m) in Simian Mountain Nature Reserve, Chongqing, during three seasons (May, July, and September 2020). The DNA metabarcoding technology combined with high-throughput sequencing was used to investigate the relationship between pollen utilization and bacterial community of Chinese honey bees along with altitude and seasonal changes.
