We analyzed the complete genome sequences of Chryseobacterium indologenes strains isolated from Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Phenotypically, most isolates (97 - 100 %) were found to be resistant to the following classes of antimicrobials; β–lactams, macrolides, aminoglycosides and sulphonamides. Whole genome sequences analysis revealed presence of putative resistance genes, several chromosomally encoded efflux pumps associated genes that mediate resistance to numerous antimicrobials and potential virulence factors. The findings from this study may shed light on the development of more efficient prevention strategies against infections caused by the fish pathogen C. indologenes
