Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is one of pathogens that cause a persistent and chronic mastitis in human and animal. The homeostasis of gut microbiota regulates the host physiology, immunity and disease, even the health of remote organs. However, the effect of S. aureus mastitis on the gut microbiota composition and metabolism was unclear. The aim of this project was to explore whether the effects of S. aureus infection on the gut and mammary gland can be alleviated through regulating the gut microbiota in mice. The collected feces were conducted metagenomic sequencing.
