Digital Archive from Archaeological Work at Pond Farm, Hill Close, Wingfield, Bedfordshire, June 2021

This collection consists of site images and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation and open-area excavation at Pond Farm, Hill Close, Wingfield, Bedfordshire. Works were carried out by Albion Archaeology in June 2021. The earliest features identified within the site were a single early medieval pit and a ditch which formed the north-east corner of a rectilinear enclosure. The archaeological evidence was slight, but clearly establishes a link between the Pond Farm site, at the core of the modern village, and an abandoned medieval settlement to the south of Wingfield.
