资源简介:
This Bowl is an example of Style III from the Mitchell site. The Mitchell site is a small Classic Mimbres village (ca. A.D. 1000 and 1130 [LeBlanc 1975]). Located in Grants County, southwestern New Mexico, the 20-25-room site underwent non-professional excavation in the 1920s and 1930s by Dr. Berry Bowen and family (Brody 2004; http://library.lib.asu.edu/record=b4770839~S3). Some of the artifacts from the Mitchell site are now curated in the Western New Mexico University Museum, Maxwell Museum, and Mimbres Foundation. LeBlanc, Steven A. (1975) Mimbres Archaeological Center: Preliminary Report of the First Season of Excavation, 1974. The Institute of Archaeology, University of California, Los Angeles.
