Growing up with a disability - children. 2007

This dataset is related to the the survey "Disabled Persons' Childhood and Level of Living", conducted by Jan Tøssebro, Hege Lundeby and Christian Wendelborg at NTNU. The background for the project is the political alterations of the services directed towards persons with strong physical or mental disabilities. Integration and normalization have been central political goals during the last decades. The objective has been to move away from a situation where disabled persons becomes segregated and marginalized in society. Since then, wide-ranging reforms have been implemented. Today's norm (also reflected in legislation) is that disabled persons should be able to live a life that is as normal as possible. Thus, it is exciting following the "post-integration generation", the children growing up after the integration and normalization period. The dataset consists of a questionnaire answered by 99 children with a disability.
