资源简介:
The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) began regional aeromagnetic surveys
over the Antarctic Peninsula in 1973. The first four seasons up to
1980, together with supplementary data from subsequent seasons,
provided 36 000 line km of data " north of 72 degrees S. The survey
was extended southwards over southern Palmer Land and Ellsworth Land
during 1986.
Since 1980, activity has been concentrated farther south. In 1983,
data were collected over the Ronne Ice Shelf as part of the BAS
Weddell Province Project to investigate the relationship between East
and West Antarctica. Two seasons have been completed with US
logistical support during the joint BAS-United States Antarctic
Research Programme (USARP) project investigating the structure and
tectonic history of the area. As part of this work, data were
collected from the area of the Ellsworth and Thiel mountains during
1984. Ellsworth Land, the Ellsworth Mountains and Bryan coast were
covered during the final survey in 1987. Metadata records for each
survey are available by following the Related_URL link to the BAS data
catalogue.
