This dataset contains the daily rainfall: A Threshold Analysis of South Africa (SA). The hydrological and agricultural analyses at daily time steps was because diurnality encapsulates many hydrologically and agriculturally related processes (e.g. evaporation, and transpiration), furthermore many operational decisions are made according to daily conditions (e.g. irrigation, tillage, pest control). Distribution patterns over SA of the mean number of days per month with rainfall exceeding 10 mm shows the higher threshold of 10 mm per day, a mean of 4 - 5 such events are measured per summer month in those Quaternary Catchments (QCs) located in the higher-lying mountainous areas of KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga, but this drops to fewer than a single day per month with >10 mm in the western third of SA.本数据集为南非（South Africa, SA）日降雨量阈值分析专项数据集，包含日降雨量相关数据。本次研究选取日时间尺度开展水文与农业分析，原因在于日循环（diurnality）涵盖了诸多与水文、农业相关的过程，例如蒸发、蒸腾；此外，诸多农业生产运营决策均依据当日气象条件制定，例如灌溉、耕作与病虫害防治。月内日降雨量超过10毫米的平均天数在南非的空间分布格局显示，以10毫米/日作为降雨阈值时，坐落于夸祖鲁-纳塔尔省（KwaZulu-Natal）与姆普马兰加省（Mpumalanga）高海拔山区的第四纪流域（Quaternary Catchments, QCs），其夏季各月平均会出现4至5次该阈值以上的降雨事件；而在南非西部三分之一区域，月内日降雨量超过10毫米的天数平均不足1天。
