"This dataset contains approximately one million empirical Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) measurements collected in the 851 MHz cellular frequency band within a non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation environment. The measurements were conducted in the Wireless Communication Laboratory at the University of Mississippi, an enclosed space containing typical office furnishings that introduce reflections and scattering, thereby creating a multipath-rich wireless channel. During the measurement campaign, the receiver position remained fixed in order to capture temporal variations in channel conditions rather than spatial averaging effects.The received signals were acquired using a Keysight MXA N9020B spectrum analyzer connected to a vertically polarized omnidirectional antenna. Instead of using a dedicated transmitter, the receiver monitored ongoing cellular transmissions from nearby base stations operating in the 851 MHz band. This approach ensures that the recorded measurements reflect realistic network operating conditions in an indoor cellular penetration scenario where the signal propagates through building structures and surrounding objects before reaching the receiver.SNR values were estimated using a dual-marker measurement methodology implemented on the spectrum analyzer. Marker 1 recorded the total received power at the carrier peak, representing the combined signal and noise power, while Marker 2 measured the local noise floor in a nearby frequency region free of signal components. Signal power was calculated in linear scale by subtracting the measured noise contribution, and the corresponding SNR values were subsequently derived. Measurements were obtained using identical receiver settings throughout the experiment to ensure consistency and repeatability.The measurement campaign produced 100 sequential data files, each containing 10,000 samples, resulting in one million recorded observations. After filtering samples that fell below the measurable noise floor, the finalized dataset contains 995,086 valid SNR measurements. The dataset captures realistic temporal variability of a cellular propagation channel and can be used for statistical characterization of wireless channel behavior, validation of classical and generalized fading models, and performance evaluation of communication systems including channel capacity, outage probability, and digital modulation schemes."
