Analysis of Scientif ic Production in the Field of Research Ethics in Scopus: A Comparison of International Output

This study aims to provide a clear picture of the scientific field of production in research ethics at the regional, national and international level. This is a descriptive and Scientometrics study. The sample includes all the scientific production in the research ethics field. The focus on Iranian productions was indexed in Scopus by the end of 2017. The results showed that the United States was the highest producer (31.6%), followed by United Kingdom (16.9%), while Iran ranked 25th worldwide. Iran was ranked first amongst Middle East countries. The highest level of cooperation was in the United States. The H-Index result for Iranian production calculated the value of 9. The citation per document was examined at a rate of 3.75. The study revealed that academic systems and universities globally would require constant monitoring and ethical evaluation of scientific indicators, to achieve the first scientific level in the region.本研究旨在清晰呈现区域、国家及国际层面科研伦理领域的科研产出全貌。本研究属于描述性科学计量学（Scientometrics）研究。研究样本涵盖科研伦理领域的全部科研产出，其中针对伊朗科研产出的相关数据已于2017年底前被Scopus数据库收录。研究结果显示，美国为该领域最高产的国家（占比31.6%），其次为英国（占比16.9%）；伊朗在全球范围内位列第25位，且在中东国家中排名第一。科研合作活跃度最高的主体为美国。经计算，伊朗科研产出的H指数（H-Index）为9，篇均被引频次为3.75。本研究表明，全球学术体系与高校若要跻身本区域科研第一梯队，需持续对科研指标开展监测与伦理评估。
