1-kilometer resolution annual building volume dataset of mainland China (2001–2019), with product files stored in TIF format. Buildings are critical components of urban settlements, and their morphological characteristics are of substantial significance for investigations into urban environments, regional climates, and human-environment interactions. Building volume incorporates both horizontal and vertical attributes, and long-term time-series building volume datasets can provide foundational data support for studies examining the historical progression of urbanization.
