The genome of strain CBS 12615 has been sequenced using Illumina Solexa technology with a 500-bp insert library sequenced in paired-end. The assembly was made with SOAPdenovo2 with a kmer size of 75 estimated as optimal with KmerGenie. Gaps were filled in using GapCloser. The rDNA cluster was assembled independently and manually integrated between scaffolds harboring partial rDNA units at one of their extremities. The final draft relies on 24 scaffolds, for a total size of 11,461,889 bp and a G+C content of ca. 44.3%. Annotation of protein-coding genes was performed using the Amadea Annotation transfer tool (Isoft, France) and manually curated. Other genetic elements (tRNA, snRNA, centromeres and transposable elements) were expertly added.
