Census of Manufactures, 1982: Industry Series

<p>This collection contains data on approximately 345,000 establishments employing one person or more primarily engaged in manufacturing as defined in the 1972 Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Manual and its 1977 Supplement. The data contain industry-specific summary statistics for approximately 450 industries for employment and payroll, shipments, cost of materials, value added, inventories, expenditures, assets, rents, depreciation, and purchased services. The statistics in these files are comparable to those found in tables 4-5 from the geographic area series reports and tables 1a, 3a-d, and 4 from the industry series reports. Data are provided for all States, standard metropolitan statistical areas (SMSAs), counties, and slected places (includes places with 450 manufacturing employees or more).</p>
