Digital Archive from a Magnetometry Survey at Hitchin Road, Henlow Camp, Bedfordshire, August 2024

This collection comprises geophysics data and GIS files from a magnetometer survey carried out by MOLA Northampton on Hitchin Road, Henlow Camp, Bedfordshire on August 15th, 2024. MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by RPS Consulting to undertake an archaeological geophysical survey on c5.6ha of land immediately east of Hitchin Road, Henlow Camp, Bedfordshire (NGR TL 171 362). The purpose of the survey was to identify and map any archaeological remains that may be affected by future development of the site. The magnetometer survey was conducted with a cart-mounted array of Bartington Grad-01-1000L fluxgate gradiometers and detected a pair of rectangular positive anomalies in the southern field, which may indicate pits of unknown origin. The survey also detected the course of a modern sewer pipe and a set of ceramic field drains.
