Next-generation sequencing data of EMS-mutagenized blast susceptible Arabidopsis F2 population

Next-generation sequencing data of EMS-mutagenized Arabidopsis to identify non-host resistance genes against rice blast fungus via forward genetics. Plants from EMS-mutagenized Arabidopsis pen2-3 seeds were screened for M. oryzae susceptibility for four subsequent generations and the most susceptible plant was identified. It was then crossed with Ler-0 to have a segregating population for mapping of the mutated gene. Phenotypic screening of the F2 population for disease susceptibility led to the identification of 15:1 ratio suggesting the involvement of two recessive genes. DNA of susceptible F2 individuals was bulked and subjected to next-generation sequencing.
