Quarterly expenditure on catering services in the UK 2015-2021, based on volume

The annual expenditure on catering services of households in the United Kingdom amounted to 63.7 billion British pounds in 2020, down 39 percent from the previous year. Spending was particularly lower during the second quarter of the year, reaching as low as roughly 4.1 billion British pounds. That was 83 percent less than in the same period of 2019. The annual expenditure on catering services by UK households significantly declined in 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which resulted in strict stay-at-home measures implemented across the country to control the spread of the virus. In the second half of 2021, spending exceeded 26 billion.
