The birch mouse (Sicista betulina) in the Gesäuse National Park

Since the birch mouse is difficult to detect using conventional methods such as live catches, adapted wildlife cameras were used in this study for the detection of small mammals. Between 13 June and 28 August 2019, 12 devices were used at changing locations on the 3 study areas. The Birkenmaus could be detected at the Sulzkaralm and Scheucheggalm in the Gesäuse National Park at three locations each.
