Ochrobactrum oryzae is a Gram-negative rod non-fermentative, aerobic, oxidative and catalase positive, showing milky white colonies on nutrient agar. The cells are mobile by means of a polar flagellum. O. oryzae was isolated from seeds and rice plant tissue is a rare opportunistic agent in humans and generally associated with invasive devices.
