National IA Frequency Zones Federal Public

Polygons delineate initial attack federal frequency zones in which FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) specified Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground frequencies are used by aircraft during incidents. Data is coordinated by the Communications Duty Officer at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) in Boise, ID. The data contains no actual frequencies. Note: overlapping polygons do exist between federal and state initial attack frequency zones in the area of west Texas due to various uses by state and national efforts.
