Standard errors were usually small, because my sample sizes for each age were large. In some cases, I have shown SEM = 1.5 for numbers of sexual partners, weanlings, or yearlings to show small SEMs that extend slightly beyond the circles— because showing slightly inflated SEMs is better than suggesting no variation at all, in my opinion.
