Monthly two-band Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI2) derived from Himawari-8/9 AHI for tropical Asia (2017–2024)

This dataset provides monthly two-band Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI2) derived from the Himawari-8/9 Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) surface reflectance for tropical Asia from 2017 to 2024. The AHI surface reflectance was generated following the atmospheric correction algorithm described by Li et al. (2025) and Zhang et al. (2025).BRDF normalization was applied based on the method of Hase et al. (2025, Environmental Research Letters).The monthly EVI2 composites were produced using the temporal aggregation and quality-screening procedures described in Hase et al. (2025, submitted to Geophysical Research Letters), including cloud masking, BRDF correction, and quality filtering.
