Habitats provide critical spaces for species to survive and reproduce. The identification and conservation of East Asian waterbird habitats are crucial for Anseriform waterbirds along the East Asian-Australasia Flyway (EAAF). In October 2018, satellite trackers were attached to wintering Swan Geese (Anser cygnoides) in Poyang Lake, yielding 48,666 location points over a complete migration cycle from 2018 to 2020 for 8 geese. The data underwent rigorous quality control processes, including filtering, status identification, home range analysis, literature comparison, and expert review to obtain a habitat dataset for the Swan Geese. The dataset is stored in a file geodatabase format, comprising three files: an individual traits table, migration routes, and habitat distribution data. The traits table includes attributes such as weight, body length, and wing length. The migration routes file contains individual IDs and seasonal data, while the habitat distribution file includes the number of location points, migration times, and habitat type attributes and areas. This dataset provides essential data support for the conservation of wintering Swan Geese in Poyang Lake and the stability of regional biodiversity.
