Data Center-Related State Legislation, 2024–2026

This dataset provides a survey of 549 state-level bills related to data centers across 49 U.S. state legislatures between 2024 and April 2026. It was assembled to track legislative activity, identify recurring policy categories, examine sponsorship patterns, and assess the evolving status and direction of state responses to data center development. The dataset draws primarily on legislative records from LegiScan, which supplied the main metadata fields for each bill. Bill descriptions and categorical classifications were developed through review of LegiScan summaries and, when necessary, the most recent available full text of the legislation. Categories were assigned according to each bill’s principal policy concerns, stated objectives, and operative mechanisms.本数据集针对2024年至2026年4月期间美国49个州议会内与数据中心相关的549项州级法案开展了系统性调研。本数据集的构建旨在追踪立法活动、识别反复出现的政策类别、考察法案发起赞助模式，并评估各州针对数据中心发展的应对举措的动态态势与发展方向。本数据集主要依托LegiScan提供的立法记录，该平台为每项法案提供了核心元数据字段。法案描述与类别分类工作通过梳理LegiScan的法案摘要完成，必要时还会参考最新可获取的法案全文。分类标准基于每项法案的核心政策关切、明确立法目标与实施机制制定。
