Barkley Canyon Hydrates Conductivity Temperature Depth Deployed 2022-05-26

The Sea-Bird SeaCAT SBE19plus V2 7031 was deployed on 2022-05-26 at Barkley Canyon Hydrates. Barkley Canyon Hydrates denotes a gas hydrate field within Barkley Canyon. This device is a Conductivity Temperature Depth. Conductivity Temperature Depth (CTD) is an instrument package that contains sensors for measuring the conductivity, temperature, and pressure of seawater. Salinity, sound velocity, depth and density are variables that can be derived from sensor measurements. CTDs can carry additional instruments and sensors such as oxygen sensors, turbidity sensors and fluorometers. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.海鸟（Sea-Bird）旗下SeaCAT SBE19plus V2 7031型观测设备于2022年5月26日部署于巴克利峡谷水合物区（Barkley Canyon Hydrates）。巴克利峡谷水合物区（Barkley Canyon Hydrates）指巴克利峡谷（Barkley Canyon）内的天然气水合物矿区。该设备为温盐深仪（Conductivity Temperature Depth，简称CTD），是集成多类传感器的观测套件，可测量海水的电导率、温度与压强。基于传感器的原始测量数据，可衍生得到盐度、声速、水深与海水密度等参数。温盐深仪还可搭载溶解氧传感器、浊度传感器、荧光计等额外仪器与传感器。本次部署的设备搭载于固定式观测平台。本次观测获取的数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 3.0数字基础设施对外共享；数据的质量管控与衍生产品制作均遵循行业既定规范。
