We report that Nod2, a pattern recognition receptor, protects from high fat diet-dependent liver malignancy and this protection is accompanied by changes in gene expression for cell proliferation, inflammation and steroid biosynthesis. We compared RNA populations in the liver from WT and Nod2-/- mice treated with a carcinogen and maintained on high fat diet for 30 weeks.
