Brands that “feel human” can foster stronger connections with audiences by appearing authentic, relatable, and trustworthy. This paper examines strategies for humanizing both corporate brands and personal brands, drawing on current literature and real-world examples. A review of prior research shows that brand authenticity and anthropomorphism (attributing human-like traits to a brand) positively impact consumer trust, engagement, and loyalty. Key elements of building a humanized corporate brand include developing a genuine brand personality, using an honest and conversational tone, and engaging with consumers transparently. For personal branding, authenticity, consistency, and clarity of one’s values and story are paramount. Methodology: This paper adopts a qualitative approach, analyzing academic literature and case examples (including a skincare start-up “Irritated” as a case study) to identify best practices. Findings: Authentic brands not only earn consumer trust and loyalty but also outperform less authentic competitors in community growth and financial outcomes. Likewise, individuals with authentic personal brands benefit from higher credibility and professional opportunities.
