Video games: To motivate African American males to excel in the classroom

Observations of participants during group gameplay activities were conducted to obtain levels of peer collaboration and learning in a community. In addition, interviews provided essential data to understand what learning objectives were accomplished during gameplay activities and to get further insight into the participant's cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and motivational engagements.
