Brand geese: Monitoring data in the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea (UIG, LKN.SH — NPV)

From 2010 onwards, this service-related database for a WFS download service will provide the occurrence and number of individuals of mooring fire geese from counting flights in the area of the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park. Fire geese are flightless for a few weeks during the mouse season in summer and are therefore particularly prone to disturbances. At this time (in the months of July — September), the Brandgans monitoring takes place with 3 comprehensive survey flights in the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea and provides information about the spatial and temporal distribution of the fire geese. The importance and change of the most important mouse areas can be estimated and evaluated with regard to potential sources of interference. Estimates of stock sizes can also be derived from the data. In addition, a distinction can be made in the data between flightable and non-flightable fire geese. This spatial data set of Brandgans monitoring contains the data of all three flights of a straight year from 2010 (i.e. 2010, 2012, etc.), so that the variability of the mouse occurrence can be mapped (UIG relevant).
