[Metadata] - DiCE - Top 5 Motivations and their underlying reasons for motivational strategy prototype development

Based on the outcome of the Sustain-a-thons, a total of 549 reasons “why” people would dispose of electronic (medical) devices were collected. A detailed analysis of this data was then completed. Several methods were applied: Constructing Grounded Theory, Axial Coding, Value Wheel of Schwartz, Round Robin sessions, Semi Structured Interviews, Co-design and Co-creation sessions and Small Scale pilots. This analysis enabled to funnel the reasons "why" in order to come to a final set of must have motivations, which was then in turn used for the design of the final set of motivational strategies. These latter were then later tested in the DiCE confirmatory pilots. Some particularly interesting contributions for the analysis in the Small Scale Pilots were the Thinking Aloud, Portrait Values Questionnaires and Cultural Probes methods.
