Triadic Family Study, 2017

The current study includes 178 triads. Specifically, first-year university students and both of their parents were recruited to participate in a cross-sectional study examining parenting goals, emotion regulation, and well-being. Most of the first-year students who recruited lived at home with their parents and commuted to the university. Once students signed up for the study, they provided the phone number and email of at least one parent. We contacted at least one of their parents to confirm that both parents would participate in the study. Once parents agreed to take the study, students were sent an email link to complete a survey. After students completed their survey, both parents were sent a link to complete their surveys. Reminder calls were made to ensure both parents completed the survey. Students were compensated with course credit or a gift card. Parents were compensated with a gift card. The university ethics number for this study is 29375
