Soil arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in short-term cover crop and water availability trial

Characterization of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in agricultural soils from Dresden, Ontario, Canada. The 1-year field trial compares contrasting cover crop (with/without) and water availability (drought/irrigation) treatments in corn (Zea mays) crops. Cover crop consisted in a 4-species mixture (rye, crimson clover, Japanese millet and sunflower) planted the previous winter. Water availability treatments were applied in the field during corn growing season. Soil samples were collected once corn had reached maturity.
