Database of African Diasporic Languages and Ethnography (DADLE)

This archive includes sociolinguistic and ethnographic interviews and various forms of visual ethnography in addition to other ethnographic material (i.e., field notes, etc.) from various linguistic and cultural communities in the African diaspora. This currently includes African-American English(es) (Glottolog [afri1276]), Haitian Creole (ISO 639-3 [hat]; Glottolog [hait1244]), and Jamaican Patois (ISO 639-3 [jam]; Glottolog [jama1262]). Special collections include material from Caribbean fieldwork trips from Haiti (March-April 2010) around the time of the 2010 Earthquakes and Jamaica (March-April 2011). The earliest data have been safeguarded since 2010.
