Transport of European trucks (VE) — Cross-border transport (VE2)

The statistics “Transport of European trucks (VE)” represent international road haulage transport across German territory and complete the transport of German trucks (lorries). For this purpose, the Federal Motor Transport Authority, as the national competent authority, receives aggregated and extrapolated annual data in accordance with Annex D to Commission Regulation (EC) No 6/2003 from the Eurostat data pool. The data submitted are available at different regional level (NUTS) in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1059/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council. For some countries within the scope of the Regulation, there are time gaps or early data reporting. Data collection is mostly carried out (as in Germany) as a sample survey. The basis of the analysis of the international traffic of European vehicles is all journeys crossing the German federal border of all vehicles reported — INCLUSIVE of the foreign route shares of the respective journey. Transits are determined via a NUTS 3-based distance plant. Please note the quality reports.
