In summer 2023, soils were collected from swale grasslands (embryonic, Intermediate [swale 1] and Inland [swale 2]) on southern Hog Island. They were kept in plastic bags to quantify soil moisture content, which was determined by weighing cores to obtain water mass before and after drying at 105 deg_C for 72 hours.
