Acinetobacter baumannii is an important nosocomial pathogen that has a remarkable ability to survive under antibiotic-stressed environments. Carbapenem-resistance is a big challenge in clinics currently. Although several kinds of resistance mechanisms have been reported, it is still unclear that before obtaining these mechanisms, which factors are involved in the carbapenem-adaptation, thus further contribute to the development of antibiotic resistance. In order to investigate the adaptive resistance mechanism of A. baumannii to meropenem, a carbapenem-sensitive clinical strain AB5116 was isolated from a patient, and its genome was sequenced to obtain the molecular characteristic, and provide information for further RNA-seq analysis.
