Genome-wide transcriptional response to salt stress in an allotriploid poplar Populus alba 'Berolinensis' L.

In order to understand the molecular mechanism of poplar under salt stress, a time series experiment including five treatments and a control group was implemented. Two-month-old Populus alba 'Berolinensis' L. plantlets were treated by 2% NaCl for 3, 6, 9, 12 and 24 hours, respectively. Plants grown in soil were used as controls. For each time point, three biological replicates were generated and each replicate was mixed from five individuals. The cultivation environment was a controlled indoor greenhouse, and the light conditions were 16h light/8h darkness.
